Men’s College Basketball
UNITY – Dale Black poured in 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lift the Unity College Rams to an 85-82 victory over the Eastern Maine Technical College Eagles in their men’s basketball game at the Unity College Tipoff Tourney Friday night.
The University of Maine-Augusta tripped UM-Fort Kent 74-72 in the first game, setting up Saturday’s 2 p.m. championship game between Unity and UMA. The consolation contest is at noon.
Black received plenty of support as Joel Pratt scored 24 points and Tony Therrien added 14 points and 10 rebounds. John Thompson had nine assists for the 2-1 winners.
Jim Brichetto paced 0-1 EMTC of Bangor with 22 points and Jason Powers netted 21. Bob Duffy chipped in with 13 points.
