ORONO – Aaron Boone scored two goals, including the game winner 34 seconds into the third period, as Brewer edged Stearns of Millinocket 4-3 in schoolboy hockey action at the Alfond Arena Thursday night.

Chris Vydas and Matt Enman assisted on Boone’s game winner. Chris Munroe also had two goals for Brewer (5-1). Darren Beers contributed two assists. Goalie Joel Dolbow made 15 saves, facing 18 shots.

For Stearns, 5-2, Trevor Boutaugh scored two goals. Jeremy Beaupain added one goal and Scott Daniell and Micha Illingworth each had an assist. Ben Hanscom made 21 saves in net, facing 25 shots.

Winslow 3, Orono 0

At Sockalexis Ice Arena, Dan Ferrigan made 27 saves to notch the shutout in goal.

For the 3-3 Black Raiders, Chris Houston had a goal and an assist. Scott Michaud and Chad Poulin each scored a goal. Eric Welch had two assists and Robert Magda had one.

Marc Halsted saved 27 of 30 shots for the 2-3-4 Red Riots.
