BAR HARBOR – The Queen Elizabeth 2 will make its only visit to Bar Harbor on Sunday, Aug. 11.

The “Grand Lady,” a favorite cruise ship to many on Mount Desert Island, is scheduled to arrive at 7:30 a.m. and leave for Boston at 6 p.m.

The QE2 carries 1,800 passengers and 1,004 crew members, making it one of the largest cruise ships in the world.

Bar Harbor is a destination this year to 64 cruise ships, a record number for the town.

Although some of the ships will stop numerous times on their way back and forth from Canada, the QE2 will make just one appearance.
