ORNEVILLE – A Bangor teen-ager who was driving with a suspended license has died from injuries he suffered in a single-vehicle crash, police said.
John Martin, 18, drove a pickup truck into a utility pole and then a tree on Route 11 Wednesday, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Investigators say speed and alcohol caused the crash, McCausland said.
Martin died Thursday night at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. A 37-year-old male passenger survived the crash and is being treated for leg injuries, according to authorities.
