The Husson College Braves thumped the Thomas College Terriers 10-1 at Bangor High School Thursday in the first game of a softball doubleheader.

The second game was called after 3 1/2 innings due to rain. It will not be rescheduled. The first game was stopped after five innings because of the eight-run rule.

For the 14-3 Braves, Lori Yanush singled twice and Michelle Cogan hit a two-run double to lead the offense. Sue Teeney added an RBI single. Crystal Hinton (7-2) pitched a five-hitter for the win.

Kelly Hubbard took the loss for the Terriers of Waterville, now 2-2 on the season.
