BANGOR – The Market Development Center in conjunction with the Maine Technology Institute will be the host of a workshop later this month to help small businesses write proposals for federal grants. Ten federal agencies set aside up to $1.5 billion per year to encourage small businesses to pursue research and development topics of interest to the federal agencies. This is the largest grant program open to small businesses who do innovative research and development of interest to the government.
The workshop will cover how to put in a cost proposal for the small-business innovation research (SBIR) program, but should be of interest to companies who have federal government contracts as well.
Jim and Gail Greenwood, of the nationally recognized SBIR consulting firm Greenwood Consulting, will present the workshop from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, in Rangeley Hall in Room 501B on the Eastern Maine Technical College campus in Bangor.
The cost is $20 for lunch and workshop materials. Preregistration is required due to limited group size. For more information call 942-6389.
