SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The annual used-book sale to benefit the Southwest Harbor Public Library will held Saturday, Aug. 14, in the annex at the rear of the library building.
The sale will resume Monday, Aug. 16, and continue through Saturday, Aug. 21, with the last day of the sale designated as half-price sale day. Sale hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
Although the main sale will be in the annex, paperback books will be sold in a tent on the library front lawn, and specialty categories (children, young adults, cookbooks and gardening) will be sold in the library on the first day.
Also on sale will be magazines, jigsaw puzzles, audio and video tapes, records, prints and old postcards.
This year’s selections have been enhanced from the private libraries of the late Ruth Lawrence who served as librarian in the 1930s and early 1940s and the late Foster Whitlock, a library trustee who died last year.
