Fuming over gas prices

I thought maybe one of the gasoline wholesalers might be kind enough to answer the following questions. The going price for a gallon of gas in most of Penobscot County is about 115.9. It has been that price for some time. The gas in Somerset County is 103.9 in Fairfield, to 105.9 in a good part of Somerset County. That is about 10 to 12 cents a gallon difference. How come?

Take the gasoline wholesalers in the Bangor area. They must get together and say let’s keep gas at 115.9 a gallon. Can you imagine how much that 10 to 12 cents a gallon must mean in dollars to the wholesalers? It probably has been going on for a couple of years if not longer.

In fact, I was in Norridgewock recently. Gas was 99.9 for full service. Diesel fuel is available at one location in Brewer for 105.9. About everyone else in Bangor is charging 116.9. That is another item selling 10 cents over what it should be. Clayton Chandler Dexter
