INDIAN ISLAND — Sister Maurice Doody, who conducted a successful parish retreat last April on Indian Island, is returning to St. Ann’s Parish Nov. 9-11.

The public is welcome to attend any of the retreat conferences, which will be held in the parish hall at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9; at 9 and 11:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10; and at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11. In addition, they may attend daily Mass at 6 p.m. and a 12-step speakers’ meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The theme of the retreat will be “Spirituality: Discovering Your True Self.”

“Sister Maurice is a Dominican Sister and highly esteemed retreat leader,” said the Rev. Jim Michaud, pastor at St. Ann’s. “Her experience and humor, her affable style of presentation, her understanding of the daily struggle, and her own `living of the program’ make for insightful and enjoyable sharing.”

She is founder and director of the Office of New Directions in the Bronx, New York, a consultant to religious communities on chemical dependency, director of spiritual weekends for self-help groups, and former chairwoman of the board for the National Catholic Council on Alcoholism and Related Drugs.

There is no charge for participation. A freewill offering will be received for the retreat ministry.
