Leeman sparks victory

DANFORTH – Kaitlyn Leeman’s unassisted goal with 4:16 left in overtime lifted the Woodland Dragons to a 2-1 schoolgirl soccer victory over the East Grand Vikings Monday.

Woodland’s Katie Smith scored an unassisted goal with 21 minutes left in the game to tie it at 1-1 after Marie Gilman had scored unassisted for East Grand in the first half.

Lauren Troiani made eight saves on 15 shots for 8-3-1 Woodland and Paula Osnoe made 26 saves on 39 shots for 2-3-1 East Grand.

Greenville 2, Shead 0

At Greenville Saturday, Jillian Bouley scored with an assist from Diane Aucoin to secure the lead and the win for the Lakers.

Kahla Lander added a goal for 6-3-1 Greenville while Beth Bartley stopped 12 of 12 shots.

Roliza DeWitt made 10 saves on 12 shots for 5-5-1 Shead.

Boys soccer

Machias 5, Shead 4 (OT)

At Machias, Joe Richards knocked in the game-winner 46 seconds into overtime to help the Bulldogs go to 10-0-1.

Chris Correll and Austin Roberts assisted on Richards’ winner. Roberts finished with two goals and two assists, Correll had a goal and two assists, and Richards added a goal. Todd Stevens chipped in with an assist. Stevens and Marcus Frutchey combined to make six saves on nine shots.

Ben Maloney racked up three goals, including a score with 2:15 left in regulation, to send the game to overtime. Mike Barnard also scored for the 9-3 Tigers of Eastport. Jason Bones and Ricky Kroll each had an assist, and Darrin Constant stopped six of 11 shots.

Jonesport-Beals 4, Lubec 0

At Jonesport, Abe Alley racked up two goals and an assist to power the Royals past the Hornets.

Martin Alley added two goals for 3-6-2 Jonesport-Beals and Matthew Merchant had two assists. Travis Weisberger had an assist and Ross Griffin stopped two of five shots.

Jordan Hall made seven saves on 14 shots for 0-9 Lubec.

Woodland 1, East Grand 1

At Woodland, Jeremy Gillespie’s unassisted goal with 33:29 left in the game tied the game at 1-1 and it stood up through two overtimes.

Gillespie’s goal came about two minutes after Emett Mailman had scored for East Grand off an assist from Darius Parker.

Aaron Moody made 23 saves on 25 shots for 5-6-1 Woodland and Chris Irish made 27 saves on 34 shots for 5-7-1 East Grand of Danforth.

WA Raiders 3, Narraguagus 2

At Harrington, Whitney Stevens scored the game-winning goal for the Raiders with 2:02 left in the game.

Ni Kalym and Stevens provided their other goals and Jason Labor blocked seven of 12 shots for 9-1 Washington Academy of East Machias.

Cory Skeate scored the game-tying goal with an assist from Eric Pelletier with 11:49 left in the second half. Jamie Moorehouse scored the Knights’ first goal and Josh Look made six saves on 11 shots for 3-8-1 Narraguagus.

Nokomis 2, Presque Isle 1

At Presque Isle Saturday, Dave Buzanoski scored the game-winning goal for 5-5-1 Nokomis on a penalty kick with 24 minutes remaining in the game.

David Sacks scored the Warriors’ first goal off a Matt Fraser corner kick, while Michael Jacques stopped 10 of 15 shots.

Ben Deschene scored with an assist from Luke Blackstone for 10-2 Presque Isle. Ben Sirois and Brad Baker combined to made 10 saves on 12 shots.

Piscataquis 3, Dexter 0

At Dexter, the Pirates scored three second-half goals, including two by Harper Hoffman, to remain unbeaten.

Dan Rockwell chipped in with a goal. Hoffman and Caleb Davis each added an assist for 8-0-5 Piscataquis of Guilford. Josh Luellen stopped 10 of 17 shots.

Brian Hersey made 10 saves on 22 shots for the 2-9-2 Tigers.

Belfast 4, Mount View 1

At Belfast, John Boynton scored two goals to help Belfast get the victory.

Bobby Tarpley scored a goal and made an assist and Aaron Cross scored a goal for the 5-4-1 winners. Ned O’Conner and Brian Lovely each made an assist. Chris Abbot and Colin Cunning combined to stop six of 12 shots.

Matt Neves scored 9-1 Mount View’s goal on a penalty kick and Dan Pellerin made eight saves on 18 shots.

JV: Mount View 3-2

Penquis 8, Lee 1

At Milo, Justin Allen scored four goals to lead 7-4-2 Penquis Valley to the win.

Jordan Allen, Garrett Durant, Shane Herbest, and Steven Kissell all scored a goal while Justin Morrill and Ben Webb each made two assists for the winners. Kevin Nason and Dustin Perkins combined to stop eight of 14 shots.

Yun Hyung-Jung scored an unassisted goal for 2-9-1 Lee Academy. Kris King and Sang Phan combined to make 19 saves on 29 shots.

Greenville 3, Windham Chr. 0

At Windham, Jonah Lizotte scored two goals to lead Greenville to victory.

Nathan Woodbury scored a goal and made an assist and Richard Folsom added an assist for 8-3 Greenville. Gregory Aucoin made nine saves on 12 shots.
