Lor gets Vikings big win Searsport hands Eagles first loss

ISLESBORO – Ivan Lor scored two long goals, the go-ahead goal and the game-winner, as the Searsport Vikings handed Islesboro its first schoolboy soccer loss of the season, 6-5, on Tuesday.

Both Lor goals were in the 20- to 25-yard range. Matt Nickerson, Ryan Shute, Drew Mercier, and Josh McFarlin tallied the other goals. All six were unassisted.

Markus Quisenberry made 12 saves on 20 shots for 5-8 Searsport.

Gavin Harkins scored three times for the 8-1 Eagles, and Jon Bolduc assisted on two of them and scored twice himself, including on a penalty kick with 59 seconds remaining. Rory Diffin finished with 19 saves on 28 shots.

Greater Portland Christian 8-5

At Portland, Andrew Marston had four goals and two assists to outduel Highview Christian Academy’s Anthony Kneeland and lead Greater Portland Christian Academy to the win.

Scott Keenan had two goals and an assist while Mike Jones added two goals for 4-3-1 Greater Portland. David Asbrouck saved 14 of 29 shots.

Kneeland had three goals and one assist for the 4-4 Knights of Charleston. Thiago Martinelli and Nick Waite each scored one goal while Aaron Waite saved 16 of 38 shots.

John Bapst 3, Hermon 2

At Bangor, Evan Haddix scored the game winning goal with an assist from Bjoren Sudeck with 13:52 left in the second half to give the Crusaders the win. Sudeck also scored a goal and assisted another and Alex Means scored a goal and made an assist. Rick Hathaway blocked seven of nine shots for 6-5-1 John Bapst.

Adam Gould scored the game tying goal and made an assist on the first goal for the Hawks. Joey Schacht scored their first goal. Phil Cayford made 10 saves on 15 shots for 2-7-3 Hermon.

Ellsworth 7, Orono 0

At Orono, Jensen Rich collected three goals and Matt Wood two as the Eagles blanked the Red Riots.

Tristan Werner tallied a goal plus an assist for 8-3-1 Ellsworth, and Matt Burns added a goal. Noah Brown made four saves against seven shots.

Evan James and Sam Kelley racked up seven saves against 14 shots for 2-8-2 Orono.

MDI 3, Old Town 2

At Bar Harbor, Kyle Jones scored the game winning goal off of a Richard Hilliard assist with 8 minutes left in the game. Marcos Matamoros and Hilliard each scored a goal and Mike Bucklin and Jones both had an assist. Bill Crawford stopped seven of 10 shots for 6-4-1 Mount Desert Island.

Shawn Richardson tied the game at two apiece with 10 minutes left in the game. Andy Pease scored the Indians’ first goal with an assist from Matt Petrie. Tyler Tracewski made nine saves on 14 shots for 8-4 Old Town.

Field hockey

Dexter 5, Stearns 1

At Millinocket, Courtney McCormick and Sarah Wyman each scored two goals to lift the Tigers past the Minutemen.

Meagan Fogarty added a goal for the 11-0 Tigers and Keri Patterson, and Brittany Veazie had an assist apiece. McCormick also had two assists and Cindy Koscielny made eight saves on nine shots.

Katie Mackin scored off a Casey Popp assist for 6-5 Stearns, and Julie Emery made seven saves on 12 shots.

JV: Stearns 1-0

Leavitt 1, MCI 0

At Pittsfield, Sam St. Hilaire scored from right in front of the goal with 50 seconds remaining in the game to give Leavitt of Turner the victory.

Kelly Campbell made four saves on four shots for the 11-1 Hornets.

Tara Weeman turned back seven of the eight shots she faced in net for the 5-6-1 Huskies.

Foxcroft 1, Old Town 0

At Dover Foxcroft, Jess Burgoyne scored the game winning goal with an assist from Amanda Howard with 7:09 left in the game. Megan Ryder faced one shot and didn’t have to make a save for 12-0 Foxcroft Academy.

Emilie Richard made 17 saves on 20 shots for 6-4-1 Old Town.

Piscataquis 3, Orono 1

At Orono, Karole-Anne Emery scored two goals for the Pirates and Kristi-Lyn Levesque scored their third goal. Amy Knowlton made 25 saves on 26 shots for 6-5 Piscataquis.

Camilla Lopez-Anido scored the Red Riots’ goal with an assist from Sophie Gray. Jessie Newcomb and Ana Blagojevic combined to stop 17 of 20 shots for 2-9 Orono.

Belfast 2, Erskine 1

At South China, Morgan Crandall scored the game-winning goal with an assist from Ashley Bryant with 9:46 left in the game to give the Lions the win.

Sarah Skinner scored their first goal off of a Laura Berry assist. Tash Scott made eight saves on nine shots for 9-3-1 Belfast.

Megan Fortin scored the Eagles’ goal with an assist from Jen Goodrich. Sarah Anderson blocked 20 of 22 shots for 4-6-1 Erskine.

Central 2, Mattanawcook 0

At East Corinth, Katie Ahearn notched a goal plus an assist as the Red Devils got the win.

Heather Lyford tallied a goal and Lisa Brown an assist for 9-2 Central. Jenna Dauphinee didn’t face any shots in net, but still was credited with the shutout.

Colleen Cloran rejected 13 out of 23 shots for the 4-7-1 Lynx of Lincoln.

Camden Hills 2, Lincoln Acad. 0

At Newcastle, Carrie Winchenbach scored both goals for the Windjammers in the win.

Jenny Ford notched an assist for 2-10 Camden Hills. Abby Spooner stopped both shots she faced.

Nicole Russell made eight saves on 10 shots for the 1-11 Eagles.

Girls soccer

Nokomis 4, Foxcroft 2

At Newport, Kristina Gonzalez scored two of the Warriors’ goals to give them the win. Aimee Paradis scored a goal and made an assist. Beth Bragdon scored a goal and Danielle Clark made an assist. Tia Beauregard stopped four of eight shots for 4-5-1 Nokomis.

Leslie Nelson and Ashley Hall both scored a goal and Sarah Anderson made an assist. Kate Walsh made 15 saves on 33 shots for 0-10-1 Foxcroft Academy.

Penobscot Valley 2, Penquis 0

At Howland, Alana Porter scored the game’s first goal with an assist from Randy Rackley with 28.6 seconds left in the first half to put the Howlers ahead. Ashlee Dawson scored a goal and Kacy Foster made the assist. Jenn Plourde stopped 15 of 25 shots for 2-8-1 Penobscot Valley.

Amanda Martin made 10 saves on 20 shots for 6-6 Penquis.

Hermon 2, Orono 0

At Hermon, Jessie Wiggin scored the Hawks’ first goal with an assist from Cassie White with 12:50 left in the first half. Megan Watson scored their second goal with a Alisa Petrello assist. Shannon Wiggin made three saves on five shots for 7-3-1 Hermon.

Joelle Clingerman stopped 17 of 21 shots for 3-6-1 Orono.

Searsport 4, Bangor Christian 1

At Searsport, Jessica Wilson scored all four goals for the Vikings and Jessie Plourde made two assists. Mo Hall blocked eight of 14 shots for 9-1-1 Searsport.

Jessica Dougherty scored a goal and Pam Reitsma made 19 saves on 27 shots for 5-4-2 Bangor Christian.

George Stevens 2, Ellsworth 1

At Blue Hill, George Stevens scored two early goals then held off Ellsworth to pick up the win.

Bethany Roberts scored both goals for 4-5 George Stevens Academy. The first came 10 minutes into the match off an assist from Anastasia Osage. Roberts then scored an unassisted goal less than two minutes later. Victoria Jones made nine saves on 16 shots.

Cherry Gamelin scored from the penalty spot for 3-7 Ellsworth 9:50 into the second half. Liz Taylor turned away six of 10 shots.

Lee 2, Schenck 0

At East Millinocket, Jessie Kuester and Brittany Mallett scored goals as the Pandas downed the Wolverines.

Shelby Pickering assisted on both goals and Ashlee Gifford stopped seven of 10 shots for 11-0 Lee Academy.

Megan Carey saved seven of 10 shots for 6-4 Schenck.

Dexter 1, Central 0

At Corinth, Sabrina Cote’s goal 22:40 into the first half turned out to be the only goal of the game as the Tigers edged the Red Devils.

Cote’s goal came when she headed in Ashley Foster’s corner kick. Daphne Robichaud stopped three of seven shots for 10-2 Dexter.

Nicole Daniels made 19 saves on 25 shots for 3-7-2.

Bucksport 3, Brewer 0

At Brewer, Elissa Gordon knocked in two goals to help the Golden Bucks remain unbeaten.

Brittni Adams tallied a goal for 9-0-1 Bucksport, and Brittany Damon stopped all seven shots she faced.

Katie Harris racked up 12 saves against 15 shots for the 2-8 Witches.

Hampden 3, John Bapst 2 (OT)

At Hampden, Kim Stephenson knocked in a direct kick with 2:52 remaining in the first overtime to lift the Broncs to their 11th straight win.

Danielle Billings notched a goal plus an assist for 11-0 Hampden, and Meredith Holt added a goal. Gabby Schrage made nine saves on 11 shots.

Ashley Cluff tallied a goal plus an assist for the 2-9 Crusaders of Bangor. Stephanie Deschaine scored one and Elaine Crolwell had an assist. Rebecca Stevens racked up 11 saves off 16 shots.
