Northern Mattress and Furniture Co. of Fairfield has announced that LEONARD CLARK of Bangor has joined the company as manager of its new retail outlet on Stillwater Avenue in Bangor. Clark previously worked at Broadway Furniture and has seven years of experience in home consultations and 35 years of retail management.

PAUL CURTIS, a long-time Piscataquis County banking veteran has joined Bangor Savings Bank as a branch commercial loan officer based in the bank’s Dover-Foxcroft office. A 1960 Husson College graduate, Curtis brings with him a broad banking background and extensive knowledge of the area.

H.O. Perry & Son Co. of Fort Fairfield has announced that EDWARD J. DORSEY has joined the insurance agency as a commercial account representative. Dorsey earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Maine in 1993 and is presently attending a four-week commercial lines insurance school in Boston.

ALTA M. WEEKS of Westfield, payroll and personnel administrator at Maine Public Service Co. in Presque Isle, retired Feb. 1, after more than 45 years with the company. Weeks attended Mars Hill schools and was employed as a clerk and a telephone operator prior to joining MPS Co. as a payroll clerk on Oct. 4, 1948. She advanced to bookkeeper in 1959, payroll supervisor in 1968, and in 1980 was named payroll and personnel administrator. She has been involved in numerous community and civic activities.

Bangor Savings Bank has promoted JEANNINE M. ROY to security officer and assistant compliance officer. Roy joined the bank in 1988 as assistant auditor. She is a graduate of Rhode Island College.

STEVE HARBAUGH has opened a business at 118 Union Square Mall in Dover-Foxcroft offering comprehensive financial planning to businesses, industries and the general public. Harbaugh, who specializes in income and estate taxes, retirement plans and investments, will make house calls. He can be reached at 564-3939.
