Goode, Gordon carry Golden Bucks past Warriors

BUCKSPORT – Shaina Goode and Elissa Gordon scored second-half goals to power the undefeated Bucksport Golden Bucks to a 2-1 schoolgirl soccer victory over the Nokomis Warriors Saturday.

Tara Tweedie assisted on Gordon’s goal. Brittany Damon made two saves on seven shots for 10-0-2 Bucksport.

Kristina Gonzalez scored the Warriors’ goal on an assist from Amy Preble with 1:38 left in the game. Tia Beauregard made 12 saves on 23 shots for 4-6-1 Nokomis of Newport.

Houlton 1, Schenck 0

At Houlton, Amie McPartland scored at 29:18 in the second half to lead 4-8 Houlton to victory.

Claire Thompson picked up the assist on the game-winner and Anna Lenentine made five saves on six shots.

Megan Carey faced 12 shots and stopped seven for 7-5 Schenck of East Millinocket.

Madawaska 1, Calais 0

At Madawaska, Beth Gerard’s goal 26 minutes into the first half held up as the Owls earned the win.

Michelle Morneault assisted on the winner for 3-7-1 Madawaska. Michelle Lavertu made three saves on five shots.

Darcey Gillespie stopped 19 of 25 shots for the 2-9-2 Blue Devils.

Shead 9, Highview Christian 0

At Eastport, Skylar Richardson scored three goals in one game for the second time in the past three games as well as adding an assist to help lead 7-6-1 Shead past Highview Christian of Charleston.

Samantha Davis scored four goals and had an assist for the Tigers, while Tiffany Martinez had a goal and an assist. Caitlyn Stellrecht contributed with a goal, while Fawn Cummings tallied two assists and Roliza DeWitt stopped seven of seven shots.

Sherry Cooper faced 23 shots for the 1-7 Knights and made 14 saves.

Caribou 7, Foxcroft 1

At Dover-Foxcroft, Lindsay Burlock racked up three goals and an assist as the Vikings moved to 11-1.

Courtney Francis and Makayla Gahagan each added a goal and an assist. Shelby Cousins and Lauren Harrigan scored one goal apiece, and Leah Drew stopped two of eight shots.

Leslie Nelson put in a goal for 0-12-1 Foxcroft and Kate Walsh made 12 saves on 26 shots.

GSA 0, Penobscot Valley 0 (2OT)

At Howland, the Eagles and the Howlers played to a scoreless tie.

Liz Tyler made 10 saves on 12 shots for the 5-6-1 Eagles of Blue Hill.

Jen Plourde faced 25 shots and made 21 saves for 2-7-3 Penobscot Valley.

Brewer 3, MDI 1

At the Pendleton Street field in Brewer, Rachel Wing tallied two goals and an assist to power the Witches.

Stacie Bean added a goal for 3-10 Brewer. Katie Harris and Stephanie Dickey combined to make nine saves on 10 shots.

Laura Tracy scored for 1-11 Mount Desert Island and Trina Smith stopped 13 of 16 shots.

JV: MDI 3-0

John Bapst 1, Hermon 0

At Bangor, Lily Krichels scored the game-winning goal with an assist from Ashley Cluff with 31:23 remaining in the game.

Rebecca Stevens stopped 11 of 12 shots for 3-9 John Bapst.

Shannon Wiggin made 17 saves on 21 shots for 8-4-1 Hermon.

Wisdom 4, Limestone 3 (OT)

At St. Agatha, Kristen Marquis netted the game-winner 3:53 into overtime to lift the Pioneers past the Eagles.

Justine Tardif, Michelle Bourgoin and Cindy Chamberlain added one goal apiece for 9-3 Wisdom. Shannon Berube stopped 14 of 23 shots.

Emily Williams scored for 6-5-1 Limestone with 6:33 left to send the game to overtime. Pearl Ryder scored a goal and assisted on an Ashley Brooker goal. Nikki Michaud made 10 saves on 20 shots.

Field hockey

Belfast 2, Waterville 1

At Waterville, Morgan Crandall scored Belfast’s first goal on a penalty stroke with 12:14 left in the first half.

Sara Flagg passed to Crandall who passed to Ashley Bryant to score their second goal with 21:25 left in the game. Tash Scott and Amanda Littlefield combined to save five of six shots for 10-3-1 Belfast.

Alaina Stinson scored with an assist from Rochelle Roberts with 13:55 left in the second half to bring the Panthers within one. Lindsey Booker made 14 saves on 16 shots for 6-5-2 Waterville.

JV: Waterville 3-0

Boys soccer

Ellsworth 4, Bucksport 0

At Ellsworth, Kris Tracy knocked in two goals as the Eagles improved to 8-3-1.

Jensen Rich and Casey Lock each added a goal for Ellsworth. Seth Mayo contributed with an assist. Noah Brown and Corey Smith combined for two saves on three shots.

Trevor Stevens stopped 22 of 36 shots for the 1-10-1 Golden Bucks.

JV: Ellsworth 5-0

Foxcroft 4, Caribou 2

At Dover-Foxcroft, Manuel Blanc scored four goals to carry the Ponies to victory.

Sonny Kim, Caleb Pelletier and Jason Weymouth recorded assists for 5-8 Foxcroft, while Kevin Brown and Julius Patay combined for 12 saves on 16 shots.

Ben Wakana scored unassisted for 5-6-1 Caribou while John Holabird scored with an assist from Jeff St. Peter. Micah Maurio faced 16 shots and stopped 12 for the Vikings.

Mariners 2, Royals 2 (2OT)

At Jonesport, Charlie Manheim scored the game-tying goal in the second half for the Jonesport-Beals Royals as they managed a tie with the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners.

Abraham Beal scored off a Manheim assist for 3-7-2 Jonesport-Beals. Ross Griffin stopped three of five shots.

Nick Ciomei scored with an assist from Doug Hanson, while Jeff Douglas had an unassisted goal for 4-7-2 Deer Isle-Stonington. Chris Gray made 16 saves on 23 shots.

Islesboro 7, Highview Chr. 1

At Islesboro, Gavin Harkins racked up four goals and three assists as the 10-1 Eagles rolled.

Jon Bolduc added three goals and an assist. T.L. Tutor scored a goal and had an assist, and David Pike chipped in with an assist. Rory Diffin stopped 16 of 24 shots.

Nick Waite scored for Highview Christian of Charleston. Aaron Waite made 25 saves on 36 shots.

Brewer 2, MDI 0

At Mount Desert, Andy Frost and Isaac Bell each scored goals in the second half to lead 8-4-1 Brewer to victory.

Zack Bouzan-Kaloustian recorded an assist while Matt Quimby stopped 12 of 14 shots for the Witches.

Bill Crawford and Adam Thorston combined to make eight saves on 11 shots for 6-5-1 MDI.

JV: MDI 4-0

Madawaska 15, Calais 0

At Madawaska, five different players scored at least two goals apiece as the Owls rolled.

Billy Roy led 7-5-1 Madawaska with three goals and an assist. Paul Michaud, Anders Sundquist, Peter Gerard, and Tom McDermott each scored twice. Steve Soucy and Brian Daigle had a goal and two assists apiece. Steve Guerette and Nathan Lagasse each scored once. Jon Cowie did not have to make a save on Calais’ only shot.

Chris Woodside stopped 20 of 48 shots for the 0-9-1 Blue Devils.
