The three students with the highest grade averages in the senior class at Brewer High School have been announced by Principal Jerry W. Goss:
Thomas Kittredge, son of Ronald and Helga Kittredge of Brewer, earned the highest rank. He has been a member of the National Honor Society, Se Beowulf, Key Club and B Club, and the cross country and spring track teams. He also was tri-captain of the swim team. He was named to the All-American Academic Swim Team, and received the Maine State Principals Award, UM Academic Achievement Award, Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award, Xerox Humanities Award and National Scholarship Commended Student Award. He plans to attend Yale University and major in molecular biophysics and biochemistry.
Jill Marie Tardiff, daughter of Phil and Cheryl Tardiff of Brewer, has the second-highest rank. She received the Distinguished Scholars Award from the University of Maine and the Academic B-Letter for all four years. She has been a member of National Honor Society, Se Beowulf, Spanish club, and art club. She plans to study social work at the University of Maine.
Lisa Collins, daughter of Nicholas and Linda Collins of Brewer, was ranked third in the Class of 1994. She has been a member of Key Club, Se Beowulf and National Honor Society, was a senior class representative and captain of the swim team. She received the UM Academic Achievement Award and the Society of Women Engineers Award. She was named to the All-State Academic and All-American Academic swim teams. Collins plans to attend Quinnipiac College and major in physical therapy.
Graduation was held at 6 p.m. June 4 at Brewer High School.
