David Herr of Canaan, Vt., and Kim Pursley-Goff of Gilford, N.H. captured titles at the first Mount Desert Island Marathon on Sunday. Herr covered the 26 miles, 385-yard course in two hours, 34 minutes and 31 seconds. That was 10:23 faster than runner-up Henri Bouchard of Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor’s Tom St. Germain was third in 2:46.28. Pursley-Goff crossed the finish line in 3:09.42. Bar Harbor’s Lara Judson was second in 3:13.56 and Chicago’s Christine Ganz came home third in 3:14.05. Three hundred and 92 runners finished the race.
