Big School (Classes A-B)
Adam Bourgon
A senior forward on the Bucksport soccer team, Bourgon scored the only goal in the Golden Bucks’ 1-0 win over Orono and followed that up with two goals and three assists in Bucksport’s upset 5-4 win over Nokomis of Newport in their season finale. The Bucks closed out their season with a 3-10-1 record.
Small School (Classes C-D)
Mike Curtis
Curtis, a running back on the Rockland football team, ran for six touchdowns and three two-point conversions in the Tigers’ 46-0 win over Traip Academy. Curtis also rushed for 318 yards and pushed his season total past the 1,100-yard mark for 2-5 Rockland.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
Tana Scott
The Camden Hills freshman scored four goals and added two assists in two games to help the Windjammers close the regular season at 8-5-1. Scott scored 11 goals in 14 games.
Small School (Classes C-D)
Kate Hamlin
Hamlin, a sophomore forward for the Penquis soccer team, scored the game-winning goal against Searsport with 10 seconds left in the second overtime, dealing the Vikings their second loss of the year. The win also helped move the Patriots of Milo from sixth to fourth in the Heal Points, thus ensuring them a home quarterfinal playoff game.
