The Winslow Black Raiders marched to their 29th consecutive victory on Saturday with a 34-6 victory over Dexter, highlighting Saturday’s regional high school football action.

Elsewhere Saturday, Stearns of Millinocket crushed Rockland by a 60-0 score.

At Winslow, Chris Houston’s 13-yard touchdown run kick started a 21-point second quarter sparking the Black Raiders to the win.

Houston finished with 112 yards on 13 carries. In addition to his TD, he bootted four extra points. Mike Parker added two touchdowns, on runs of 31 and 1 yards while complementing Houston’s effort with 72 yards on eight carries for Winslow.

Isaac Whitaker returned an interception – one of four on the day for Winslow – to a 50-yard touchdown and Randy Loubier added a TD on a 1-yard dive.

For Dexter, James Kirk collected a 24-yard scoring pass from Brad Sherwood.

Stearns 60, Rockland 0

At Rockland, Eric McAvoy and Dave McLaughlin spearheaded a strong defensive effort to lift Stearns to the blowout victory.

McAvoy and McLaughlin made 11 tackles each to key the Minutemen, which limited Rockland to minus-82 yards rushing. McAvoy had two fumble recoveries and two sacks – one of which led to a Stearns safety. McLaughlin had three sacks and one fumble recovery.

Offensively, Ryan Babbidge and Jason Cyr scored two touchdowns each. Eric Jackson, Brian Hallett, Shawn Illingworth, Dana Cyr, and Brian Johnson each had one touchdown.

At Brewer on Friday night, Chris Thurlow gained 122 yards on 17 carries and the Red Riots totaled 368 yards on 47 carries as a team in picking up the lopsided win Friday.

Kyle Bishop added 100 yards and a touchdown on just seven carries, Salvador Casanas scored twice and piled up 85 yards on six rushes, and Robbie Pyle had two more touchdowns and 55 yards on eight runs.

Tony Dennison scored on touchdown passes of 30 and 70 yards for the Witches. Dakota Therrien rushed for 70 yards on six carries.
