Glass act
Everyone could use a pint full of cheer, especially around the holidays. Fish’s Eddy has answered the call with its “Drink Cheer Up” glass. This is the latest addition to its fun, funky collection, reminiscent of vintage 1950s glassware. The 16-ounce glasses (pictured) cost $3.95 each, while their 9-ounce counterparts cost $2.95 each. They are available at www.fishseddy.com or by calling (877) 347-4733.
A tasty race
Though Governor’s restaurants held their elections a few months early, the Carter Burger won in a landslide victory in the Great Governor’s Burger contest. Patrons at each of the Governor’s seven locations voted, and the 1/3-pound Carter Burger with lettuce, tomato, red onions, pickles, melted Swiss, and sauteed mushrooms took 38 percent of the vote. The Flanagan Burger came in second, followed by the Baldacci Burger, the Michael Burger and the Cianchette Burger. In some ways, it was the ideal campaign: There was no mudslinging, and each of the candidates stuck to the meaty issues.
Wine time
