Maine Heat, MacLaughlin lead world bowling

BREWER – The host Maine Heat team and MacLaughlin Truck and Trail jumped from third to first in their respective divisional rankings after the second day of team competition at the Candlepin Bowling World Team Championship Wednesday at Bangor-Brewer Bowling Lanes.

After going 16-8 on the opening day, Maine Heath followed up with a 20-4 mark Wednesday for a 36-12 total to lead 34-14 Handi’s Rebels of New Brunswick, the previous Holiday Inn divisional leader. MacLaughlin (42-6) is up by six games on Maria’s Sub and Pizza of Massachusetts in the Varney GMC division.

MacLaughlin rolled the team high single game and team high three-game totals Wednesday with a 715 and 2,016, respectively. The individual standout was Lucky 7 of Massachusetts’ Chip Carson, who had a 177 individual high single and a 450 series high.

Maine Heat was led by Charles Milan III, who rolled a 383, and James Milan, who notched a 372.
