AUGUSTA — Awards were presented to three individuals and one health organization at the annual meeting of the American Heart Association, Maine Affiliate Inc. on June 20.
James J. Lomac of Cape Elizabeth, a management consultant and principal of Management Research Group in Portland, has served as chairman of the personnel committee since 1979 and as a member of the board of directors for the last seven years. Lomac was presented a plaque and elected ex-officio member of the board of directors.
Retiring treasurer Carl N. Ouellette of Scarborough, of the firm Runyon, Kersteen, Ouellette and Lessard of South Portland, was honored for his many years in office. He has been a member of the board of directors and served on the Executive, Budget and Finance committees. He is a member of the Audit Committee.
Jocelyn Dill of Kennebunk received the Time, Feeling and Focus Award for coordinating the Jump Rope for Heart Program at the Park Street School in Kennebunk, where she teaches physical education. The school raised $86,855 for the AHA. Dill also was co-chairman for the AHA Women and Heart Disease Task Force and was named Maine’s 1989 Physical Education Teacher of the Year.
The Maine Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Professionals coordinated the Jump Rope for Heart Program and helped raise more than $860,000 during the last 10 years for cardiovascular research and public and professional education. Accepting an award for the association was Kathy Wilbur of Damariscotta, association president.
