Eight candidates vie for office in Eddington

EDDINGTON — Elections for three town positions and three school district positions will be held Monday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building. The annual town meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20.

Residents will have four candidates, including two incumbents, to choose from for the two town selectman positions on the ballot. The positions are for three years. Incumbents Dale Kelley and Lloyd V. Leeman Jr. are running against Dale Canning and Philip D. Robertson Jr.

Frederick A. Wood is running unopposed for town treasurer, a one-year term.

In school district elections, there are four candidates on the ballot for two seats on the district’s board of directors. Lionel L. Alley Sr. and Mark Perry are the incumbents, with Thomas McKinney and Joan White also vying for the positions. Both seats are three-year terms.

Robert Thomas, an incumbent, is running unopposed for a one-year position on the district’s board of directors.

Tuesday’s town meeting will take up an agenda with about 30 articles, largely budgetary matters but including a number of zone ordinance changes.
