The honor parts for Houlton High School have been announced by Principal David Wiggin. Named valedictorian is Leah B. Fasulo and salutatorian is Kimberly S. Shaw.
Fasulo is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Fasulo of Houlton. She is president of National Honor Society and the Drama Club, was a delegate to Dirigo Girls State, and attended the New England Young Writers’ Conference at Breadloaf and the Young Writers’ Symposium at Haystack. She is a member of the Goals 2000 Regional Leadership Team, band, golf and tennis teams. She also has been a social service volunteer and participated in B.A.B.E.S. She received the Principal’s Award, the Xerox Humanities Award, 21st Century Book Award, Maine Scholars’ Achievement Award and the WAGM-TV In Pursuit of Excellence Award. Fasulo plans to attend Bowdoin College in Brunswick.
Shaw, daughter of Rellon and Wanda Powers of Houlton and Theodore and Lorraine Shaw of Littleton, is a social service volunteer, a member of National Honor Society, band, chorus and the senior executive staff. She also volunteers at Houlton Regional Hospital and is a member of the youth group at the Littleton Pentecostal Church. She plans to study physical therapy at the University of New England.
First and second honor essayists are Gregory M. McLaughlin and Melissa M. Godin. McLaughlin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael McLaughlin of Houlton. Godin is the daughter of Michael and Patty Crandall and Brian and Roberta Godin.
Graduation exercises will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at the Houlton High School Auditorium.
