OWLS HEAD — Historical calendars and booklets will be for sale when the Old Homestead opens July 12, the Mussel Ridge Historical Society announced.
The Homestead, operated by the historical group, will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays,through Aug. 30.
Items on sale at the homestead will include a calendar compiled by Alicia K. Smith, the niece of Fred Smith, who established the popular Crescent Beach Inn razed years ago for a condominium development. The calendar features pictures of the building, Smith and his co-workers. A booklet, “Rest Stops in Owls Head,” which lists recommended boarding houses, inns and restaurants from the 1800s, will also be offered for sale.
The museum will display old scrapbooks, pictures and other memorabilia.
