KATHY RUSSELL has joined the Jenny Craig Weight Loss Centre of Bangor as a weight-loss counselor. Russell recently completed training as a weight-loss counselor in Philadelphia.

Eastern Maine Medical Center has announced the appointment of LYNN WOOD to the position of director of community relations and volunteer services. A Milford native, Wood has been with the medical center since 1986. Before joining the center’s staff, she worked for the U.S. Navy in Spain.

CHRISTOPHER M. CALDWELL of Hampden has been promoted to manager for marketing and pricing, the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad has announced. He has been associated with the railroad since 1988 as assistant manager for marketing and pricing. He previously was employed by Boise Cascade Corp. and Guilford Transportation.

ROBERT P. RAYMOND has been named director of HMO Maine, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine’s four-year-old health-maintenance organization. Raymond brings more than 15 years of health-care management experience to his new job. He earned both an undergraduate and a master’s degree in economics at the University of New Hampshire.

DAN OAKES has joined Georgia-Pacific Corp. of Woodland as a process engineer in the Technical Services Department. Oakes is a graduate of the University of Maine, where he earned a degree in chemical engineering. He concentrated in pulp and paper technology at the university.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine has named WILLIAM A. J. BREMER vice president of risk management. He has been with the company since 1971. In his new job, Bremer will be responsible for assessing the insurance risk underwritten by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine and its affiliates. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at Columbia University.

DAVID ESTABROOK has been appointed to the position of assistant purchasing agent, Northern Products Log Homes Inc. has announced. In addition to his purchasing responsibilities, Estabrook also will assume duties as administrative assistant. Estabrook is a graduate of Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute.
