ORONO – University of Maine women’s basketball player Cindy Blodgett and three ice hockey players have received preseason honors from College Sports magazine.

Sophomore guard Blodgett was named to the publication’s preseason All-America third team.

In hockey, Maine was picked third nationally behind Boston University and Michigan, and defenseman Jeff Tory was named to the All-America East team. Tory, goalie Blair Allison, and forward Dan Shermerhorn each made the magazine’s all-Hockey East team.
