Vaughn “Joe” Beaulieu will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the community room of the Penobscot River House, Main Street, Old Town. All friends and relatives are welcome.

Michael Sanborn, 11, of Bangor has leukemia and is being treated at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. He is expected to be in the hospital, in Room 537A, for another month. Cards from friends and relatives would cheer his days there.

The Herring family reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 12, at the Lander Camps on Piper Pond. A covered-dish lunch will be served at noon.

Friends and acquaintances of Iva C. Giberson, formerly of 90 Dupont St., Presque Isle, may be interested to learn that she is a resident of the Maine Veterans Home, Van Buren Road, Caribou 04736. Cards and notes would be greatly appreciated.

Jesse Severance of Carroll is a patient at Togus Veterans Administration Hospital, where he expects to remain for two weeks to a month. Cards from old and new friends would please him. His address is Togus VA Hospital, Ward 45, Room 437, Togus 04330.

The annual Homsted family reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 19, rain or shine, at Priscilla Homsted’s residence in Bangor. Bring your own food.

The Brewer High School senior alumni reunion will be held Friday, Aug. 24, at Pilots Grill in Bangor. Anyone who has been graduated from Brewer High for more than 50 years and has not received an invitation should contact Clara Swan, secretary, at 947-0678 before Aug. 18.

Mary Tye, a fifth-grade student from 3 Solar Estates Drive, Chico, Calif. 95928, is doing a state report on Maine because she loves lobsters and because her favorite television show is “Murder She Wrote.” She says she needs lots and lots of information from as far back as she can get it. Anything from Maine residents would be a help.
