Andrew Clavette

Andrew Clavette of the University of Maine at Fort Kent men’s basketball team has been selected as the Webber Energy player of the week. Clavette, a senior guard, averaged 16 points in a 2-1 week.

Damien Murphy

Damien Murphy, a freshman forward at the University of Maine at Presque Isle has been named the Webber Energy rookie of the week. Murphy scored 15 points in a win over UMM, going six for seven from the floor.

Tonya Cray

Tonya Cray, a junior center on the Thomas women’s basketball team has been chosen as the Webber Energy player of the week. Cray had three double doubles in four games averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Hannah Socoby

Hannah Socoby of the University of Maine at Farmington has been named Webber Energy rookie of the week. Socoby, a first-year guard averaged 17 points and 3.5 steals in a 2-0 week.

Jason Levesque

Jason Levesque, a sophomore guard at the University of Southern Maine, has been selected as the Little East Conference player of the week. Levesque averaged 27 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 81 percent from the line.

Tiffany Jones

Tiffany Jones, a freshman guard at the University of Southern Maine, has been named the Little East Conference rookie of the week. She averaged 15.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in a 2-1 week.

Julia Knights

Julia Knights of Maine Maritime Academy has been selected as a North Atlantic Conference co-player of the week. Knights led the league in scoring with an average 18.2 points per game for the week.

Carla Flaherty, Erica McGary

Carla Flaherty of Bates and Erica McGary of UM-Presque Isle have been chosen as Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association players of the week. Flaherty averaged 20.7 points per game and was named MVP of the Paul Bunyan Tournament. McGary averaged 20 points and nine rebounds per game.

Julia Knights, Hannah Socoby

Julia Knights of Maine Maritime Academy and Hannah Socoby of UM-Farmington have been selected as Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association rookies of the week. Knights averaged 22 points and 13 rebounds per game and lead the state in rebounding average with 14.5 per game. Socoby scored 28 points in a win over UM-Machias and finished the week with seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists.

Amy Matuewezski

Amy Matuewezski of the University of Southern Maine women’s ice hockeyteam has been named East Coast Athletic Conference player of the week. She recorded three goals and an assist in one win and a goal and four assists in another win, both over St. Michael’s.
