BANGOR — Bangor Area Visiting Nurses has begun its annual fund drive and asks that tax deductible donations be sent to the organization at P.O. Box 2040, Bangor 04401.

Last year, visiting nurses cared for more than 650 pediatric and adult patients living within 25 miles of Bangor, providing more than $17,000 of free and reduced-fee care thanks to contributions made to the BAVN ENDOWMENT FUND.

BAVN was founded in 1913 by members of the Bangor Federation of Women’s Club, and was known until 1993 as Bangor District Nursing.
