I wonder why former President Clinton could get away with starting a war to keep his immoral antics from being first in the news, but when President Bush declares war to be imminent legitimately, the “peace and justice” activists begin their protests.
I have just finished reading “George and Laura: Portrait of a Marriage,” by Christopher Andersen, and am deeply touched by President Bush’s concern for protecting the American people, especially since Sept. 11. He is deliberately thoughtful about his decisions and regards his advisers’ input to be important. He is going after a ruthless man who has been purported to be in cahoots with Osama bin Laden and yet so many Americans think we should look at these cutthroat leaders as humanitarians.
It is time to come out of our trance and understand that we are having our rights taken away, not so subtly now, from within and without. It is time to realize that war is inevitable and that we Americans might be inconvenienced while it is going on. It is time for our church leaders to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and the need for accepting Him as Savior and Lord, instead of reaching out for more money in the name of “the economic times and Sept. 11” to further increase their coffers. Now is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid and support of our president, George W. Bush.
