Charity starts at home

If you’re a veteran, you now have to wait eight months to a year to see a doctor. You may die before you can even get an appointment. It’s OK for our country to send people off to get killed in the name of freedom, but get sick after you do your duty and this great country abandons you.

Don’t grow old in this country because you may freeze, starve or die because you can’t afford life-saving medicine. Yet we can afford to send billions of dollars to some other country because they have a dictator starving his people, or we bring people here for medical treatment who can’t afford it in their own country.

Let’s take a hard look at our own people. Let’s feed our hungry and care for our sick before trying to fix the rest of the world.

Let’s remember that charity starts at home. Maybe then the future would look a lot brighter for the elderly and the unfortunate of our country, instead of looking at no future at all.
