Schenck tops Penquis for first win

EAST MILLINOCKET -Schenck used a well-rounded offense and a 2-3 zone defense Wednesday night, helping the Wolverines beat Penquis of Milo 43-35 for their first schoolgirl basketball victory of the season.

Megan Carey, Robin Larlee and Jesse Hanington each scored eight points for Schenck.

Farrar Cobb led Penquis of Milo with 13.

Katahdin outscored the Warriors of Dyer Brook 23-14 in the third quarter to turn a one-point game into a 12-point lead. Owen McCarthy chipped in with 14 points for the winners and Sam Cyr added 12.
