MMA earns win over UM-Fort Kent

CASTINE – Erinne Magee scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds Thursday night to lead the Maine Maritime Academy women’s basketball team to a win over UM-Fort Kent.

Julia Knights scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for the Mariners.

Heidi Fisher scored 12 points to top the Lady Bengals.

At Plymouth, Mass., Lora Trenkle hit 10 of 10 free throws on her way to 21 points and a win for Bowdoin.

Lindsay Bramwell added 12 points for the Polar Bears of Brunswick. Erika Nickerson and Alison Smith tallied 11 each.

Courtney Albert led all scorers with 23 for Plymouth State.

Wendy Bonner also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Bianca Belcher chipped in with 10 points for Colby of Waterville.

Carla Flaherty led Bates with 14 points.

At Farmington, the White Mules had four players score in double figures as they picked up their second win.

Andrew Jenkins topped Colby with 19 points, while Pat McGowan had 18 points, Jared Cushman scored 14, and Kevin Crossman tossed in 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

University of Maine-Farmington’s Travis Magnusson topped all scorers with 22 points. James Malley added 18 points.
