FRENCHVILLE – Brandon Michaud, a member of Boy Scouts of America since April 1995, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
Michaud, 18, was approved for his Eagle Scout rank in July 2002 and received his award Jan. 12 with about 50 family members and friends attending the award ceremony.
He is 27th Eagle Scout in Troop 270 since 1977.
Michaud’s Eagle Scout project, conducted under Scoutmaster Vernon Labbe, was the construction of park benches, picnic tables and a retaining wall at the St. Agatha Recreational Park.
Michaud was a Cub Scout for 41/2 years before joining Boy Scouts.
Along with earning 31 merit badges in his Scouting career, Michaud also earned the Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII religious medals and the Paul Bunyan Woodsman badge. He held seven leadership positions during his years with the troop.
During his Scouting years, Michaud took part in more than 100 nights of camping, four canoe trips on northern Maine rivers, eight camporees and attended Camp Roosevelt in East Eddington for five years.
Michaud is the son of Jeanette and Bob Michaud of Frenchville.
