BANGOR – The Challenger Learning Center of Maine invites all Maine sixth-grade pupils to participate in an essay contest.
To enter the competition, answer the following question in 200 to 250 words: “What will I learn by chasing a comet at the Challenger Learning Center of Maine?” Describe why you would like to travel through outer space.
Work will be judged on creativity, organization and mechanics.
The winner and the winner’s seventh-grade science class will be the first crew to “Rendezvous with a Comet” at the center, meaning an opportunity to role-play engineers, scientists and astronauts.
Each essay needs a cover sheet, including the author’s name, teacher’s name, and the name, address and phone number of the pupil’s school.
Compositions must be postmarked by March 10.
Mail entries to Challenger Learning Center of Maine, Essay Contest, P.O. Box 8455, Bangor 04402-8455.
