AUGUSTA – The University of Maine-Augusta six players in double figures Thursday night while earning a 101-81 Yankee Small College Conference men’s basketball quarterfinal victory over Eastern Maine Technical College at the Augusta Civic Center.
Coop Nickerson paced the balanced UMaine-Augusta effort with 23 points and 16 rebounds, while Prentis Baker scored 20.
Antrone Moore contributed 18 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, Chris Melgard netted 16 points, Chris Blodgett scored 14 and Mike Sullivan added 10.
Jesse Haskell and Daryl Watson led EMTC of Bangor with 23 and 22 points, respectively.

At Gorham, Matt Karakoudas and Bobby Michalczyk poured in 18 points apiece en route to the win.
Michalczyk also had 14 rebounds for Salem State, and Willie Phillips chipped in with 15 points. John Goya notched 12 points and seven rebounds.
Jason Levecque led all scorers with a 28-point effort for the Huskies and Quinn Fulcher added 14.

PHILADELPHIA – Delonte West scored a career-high 32 points and Pat Carroll got all of his career-best 24 on 3-pointers, leading No. 25 Saint Joseph’s to a 78-59 victory over crosstown rival Temple at the Palestra on Thursday night.
The Hawks (18-3, 8-2 Atlantic 10) have won four in a row, and swept the season series for just the third time in 20 years.
