Several promotions at Bangor-based Merrill Bank have been announced. Lynne A. Spooner of Milford, senior vice president, has assumed overall responsibility for the retail banking function, including branch administration, consumer lending and mortgage banking. She has been a member of the bank’s senior management, overseeing residential mortgage lending, since its formation.
Angela T. Butler of Bangor was promoted to vice president in the commercial lending area. She joined the bank as a credit analyst in 1994 and over the past nine years has assumed increasing responsibilities in the commercial lending area.
Fred A. Brown of Prospect was promoted to assistant vice president in the commercial lending area. He joined the bank as a credit analyst in 1999 after three years at MBNA in Belfast.
Theresa M. Brooks of Bangor was promoted to loan officer in the retail banking area and is located at the Main Street office in Bangor. She recently completed the management training program after working in a variety of areas for the bank over the past seven years.
Linda G. England of Holden was promoted to accounting officer at the operations center in Bangor. She has been with the bank for seven years assuming increasing responsibilities in the accounting area, where she now oversees daily operations. England has an associate degree from the University of Maine. She brings many years of banking experience, including audit and accounting, to her present position.
Cynthia L. Leighton of Veazie was promoted to training officer in the human resources area of the bank. She has been with Merrill Bank for eight years working in a variety of retail banking and human resource capacities. She received an associate degree in paralegal studies from Husson College.
Holly A. Vetelino of Veazie was promoted to trust officer in the trust and investment services area of the bank. She has been with the bank for five years assuming increasing responsibilities for retirement benefits and trust administration. Vetelino is a graduate of Eastern Maine Technical College and the University of Maine. Two recent additions to the bank’s staff include
Lawrence M. Napoleone of Glenburn and Shawn P. Mallison of Old Town. Napoleone joined the bank as a vice president and investment manager in the trust and investment services department. A certified financial planner and graduate of the University of Southern Maine, Napoleone brings many years of financial planning and investment advisory experience to his present position. Mallison joined the bank as an assistant vice president in the retail banking area. Mallison graduated from Cedarville (Ohio) University and most recently lived and worked in North Carolina. He brings 11 years of financial and banking experience to his new position.
