BANGOR – The Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross began its kickoff of the “Together We Prepare” informational campaign on Feb. 28.

The chapter is encouraging eastern and northern Maine residents to make sure that they and their communities are better prepared should disaster strike by doing five things:

. Make a plan.

. Build a kit.

. Get trained.

. Volunteer.

. Give blood.
