Although I disagree with the protesters on the issue of Iraq, I respect their right to protest. What a great country we have that we have troops ready to lay down their lives to protect these people’s right to protest.
Friends of mine tell me they protest in order to gain support in their efforts towards a peaceful world. By burning the flag, blocking public ways and disturbing the peace, these folks are alienating the rest of us, not helping their cause. These actions are more the tantrums of spoiled brats than those of well-meaning patriots trying to get support for their cause.
Holding their breath until they get their way might be worth a try.
