Maine credit unions continue to fare well on a quarterly national report that compiles the performance of credit unions. In the recently released third quarter 2002 Peak Performing Credit Union Report, a national report, issued by Callahan & Associates of Washington, D.C., five Maine credit unions appeared.
For credit unions with assets of $50-$100 million, in the Total Return To Member category, two Maine credit unions placed in the top 20 – NorState Federal Credit Union in Madawaska (16th); and Otis Federal Credit Union in Jay (19th).
In the Return To Borrower ranking, York County Federal Credit Union in Sanford placed 3rd on the national list.
Finally, for Member Service Usage, two Maine credit unions were ranked, with Norstate (10th) and Maine Family Federal Credit Union in Lewiston (19th).
For credit unions with assets of $100-$250 million, University Credit Union in Orono and Portland placed ninth in the Return To Borrower category.
The Maine Credit Union League is the State Trade Association for Maine’s 76-affiliated Credit Unions providing a variety of services and products to assist Credit Unions in meeting the needs of their membership.
