Outlook: The Black Bears are looking to get in some midweek non-league games against Brown. UMaine has never beaten the Bears, though they haven’t met in 34 years. UMaine’s untested younger pitchers will likely get some important mound duty while the hitters try to get their respective strokes going in preparation for a critical weekend America East series against Northeastern. UMaine has won 10 of its last 11. Brown, which has dropped three of its last four, is 3-5 in the Ivy League. Brown is averaging only 4.5 runs per game with a .279 average.
