A skateboarder was arrested Sunday evening in Old Town.
Old Town police Officer Christopher Hashey said that at 6:20 p.m. he spoke with a 17-year-old boy who had repeatedly been told not to skateboard in downtown Old Town.
Hashey told the boy he was banned from the city park for the night. According to Hashey, the boy told him, “You’ll have to write the ticket right now, because I’m going down there.”
Hashey arrested the boy for criminal trespass. He was later released into his parents’ custody.
Mysterious projectiles damaged a truck windshield in Brewer on Monday afternoon.
Brewer police Officer David Lord said a man called at 4:15 p.m. to say that two unknown objects struck his windshield as he was driving down North Main Street on the outskirts of town.
The man told Lord he thought the projectiles were BBs, but couldn’t find anybody who might have shot his truck.
Lord said two marks on the windshield were consistent with a BB impact.
Stolen tools in Hampden left police with no leads Monday morning.
At about 9 a.m., the owner of a construction company called the police to say a tool trailer at the Avalon Village community off U.S. Route 1A had been broken into and $5,000 worth of tools were missing from it.
Officer Joel Small said the lock of the trailer appeared to have been cut. The owner evidently had left the trailer parked there since December.
There were no tracks or other physical evidence to indicate who had broken into the trailer or when, Small said.
Hampden police Sgt. Scott Webber noted there have been several similar incidents in the last year. He said police are intensifying routine checks at construction sites.
