Bangor police reported one arrest for domestic assault Tuesday and issued a summons for assault for an incident between two high school friends.
Bangor Officer Butch Moore said he arrested Brian Tracy, 23, of Bangor at Tracy’s workplace on a complaint of domestic assault Tuesday. The alleged victim reported to police that at 9:48 a.m. Tracy had pushed and slapped her, twisted her arm, then took her car keys. She reported he demanded she leave the house and then drove her 5-year-old twins to the day care center. After returning home briefly, he went to work.
Tracy later attempted to file a charge against the victim and showed Moore fingernail scratches on his neck. Moore told him he would not “entertain a counterdomestic assault charge,” and that the matter would be decided by the court. Tracy is to appear at 3rd District Court on April 30.
Officer Tyler Leighton reported that he summoned Yolanda Woodard, 18, of Bangor for assault against a high school friend. The alleged victim reported she had been assaulted in the Bangor High School student parking lot Tuesday morning after driving Woodard to school, a routine for the pair. Both Woodard and the victim said that the incident was the result of “boyfriend issues.”
As the pair made its way toward school, the victim said, Woodard grabbed her around the neck and throat from behind. The victim was able to twist away but Woodard then kicked her several times on the left leg.
She was able to get away from Woodard and drove home, where she contacted police. Police said Woodard admitted she had pushed the victim and pulled her hair. She was summoned to appear in 3rd District Court on April 23 on a charge of assault.
