Marquis leads Warriors by Wisdom

ST. AGATHA – Tyler Marquis hit three singles to aid in Fort Kent’s opening game effort, a 10-5 baseball win over Wisdom here Tuesday.

Gib Michaud doubled and singled for Fort Kent and Jared Boucher hit a RBI single.

Jason Bouchard, Nate Collins, Brad Thibeault, and Chris Pelletier each hit a single for Wisdom.

At Dyer Brook, Corey Shields hit a long two-run homer in the sixth inning to help lead Southern Aroostook past Hodgdon.

Zach Austin tripled and singled with a RBI for Southern Aroostook. Evan McGary and Corey Edkins each hit a pair of singles with two RBIs.

Derek Nickerson hit a solo homerun and a double with two RBIs for Hodgdon and Jeff Condon doubled.

At Machias, Ben Maloney allowed only one run, three hits, three walks while striking out 11 to put Shead of Eastport on top of Machias.

Wesley Ellington hit a grand slam homerun in the seventh inning for the Tigers. Maloney hit a solo homerun and two doubles with two RBIs.

Chase Ross doubled with one RBI for the Bulldogs as Todd Stevens and Joe Richards each singled.

At Ellsworth, Seth Mayo gave up only one run on six hits and three walks while striking out three to give Ellsworth the win.

Mayo doubled and singled with two RBIs for Ellsworth and Garrett Hardison hit two singles with an RBI.

Dusty Thomas had two singles for Orono, and Ryan Levesque hit a sacrifice fly in the first inning.

At Old Town, Zac Bouzan-Kaloustian doubled and singled in addition to making two diving catches for outs at second base to help Brewer edge the Indians.

Kevin Kotredes’ two-run single to right-center in the sixth inning plated the tying and winning runs for the Witches.

Brad Goody and Mike Russell each had two singles for Old Town.

At Milo, Sam Bowers struck out 10 batters and walked six while Kyle Stone had a double, two singles and two RBIs to lead the visiting Tigers.

Adam Russell doubled twice and drove in three runs, while Eric Day had a double, single and two RBIs for Dexter.

Jordan Allen had three singles, a double and three RBIs. Justin Allen had three singles and an RBI for the Patriots.

At Hampden, sophomore Chris Pease allowed only one run on one hit and five walks while striking out 10 to keep Hampden in front of John Bapst of Bangor.

Ian Lee hit the game-winning RBI single in the fourth inning for Hampden. Kyle Dalton and Pat McCabe each had a RBI single.

Sean Snider singled for John Bapst’s only hit.

At Greenville, Chris O’Brien scored the winning run in the top of the seventh when he was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a groundout, and came home on a Pat Fitzmaurice single as the Bobcats edged the Lakers.

Steven Brown led Richmond with a two-run double and a triple. Fitzmaurice added another single.

Griz Aucoin sparked Greenville with a three-run homer and a single. Danny Campbell drove in two runs on two singles and Anthony Lavigne singled twice.

At Dyer Brook, Erin Foster hit a pair of homeruns including a grand slam in the seventh inning to keep Hodgdon on top of Southern Aroostook.

Heather Martin hit a triple, two doubles, and a single with four RBIs for Hodgdon and Amanda Fitzpatrick hit two doubles, a single and a three-run triple in the seventh inning.

Jordan Sholler had a double and three singles with three RBIs for Southern Aroostook and Nicki Lyons hit four singles with two RBIs.

K.C. Duffy-Stanley led the Cougars with a triple and three singles. Crystal McMoarn had a double and two singles. Brandi Violette and Lindsay Albert each singled twice.

Michelle Bourgoin smacked a grand slam in the fourth and added a double for the Pioneers.

At Machias, Logan Davis drove in two runs with a double in a four-run fifth inning as the Bulldogs got by the Tigers.

Skylar Richardson had a double and two singles and Brittany Lingley had a triple, single and drove in a run for Shead of Eastport.

At Hampden, Heather Laferriere’s RBI single in the seventh inning knocked in the winning run for the Crusaders.

Rebecca Stevens rapped a pair of singles for Bapst, and Gwen Wadleigh struck out five en route to the win.

The Broncos scored all of their runs in the first inning led by Amy Ryder’s single and two RBIs, Kristin Littlefield’s RBI double, and Ashlea Ireland’s RBI single. Littlefield struck out seven during her six-plus innings on the mound.

At Howland, Kassie Brown hit two triple and two singles with three RBIs to lead Mattanawcook to the win.

Jaide Littlefield hit two singles with four RBIs for Mattanawcook and Brooke Leighton had two singles with two RBIs. Arikka Knights and Shannon Pietras each hit two singles with a RBI.

Randy Rackley tripled and singled for Penobscot Valley and Toni Babineau had two singles with a RBI.
