HAMPDEN – Travis Pelletier scored the game-winning run in the seventh inning on an errant pickoff attempt at third base as the Bucksport Golden Bucks edged the Hampden Academy Broncos 3-1 in high school baseball action Monday.

Phil Harvey gave up only two hits and three walks while striking out six for the Golden Bucks. Jake Knight hit an RBI single in the seventh inning and Nye Gifford singled.

Pat Moran didn’t allow an earned run and gave up two hits, four walks, and two hit batsmen while striking out five for Hampden. Eric Libby hit a pair of singles.

At Hampden, Nikki Smith gave up only one run on one hit and two walks while striking out five through five innings to give Bucksport the win.

Alice Andrews hit a pair of singles with three RBIs for the Golden Bucks. Elissa Gordon and Megan Murauckas each hit a double and single to knock in two runs.

Jillian Yamartino had an RBI double in the fourth inning for Hampden.
