Belfast man charged in assault

DOVER-FOXCROFT – A Belfast man faces several charges after seeking the help of a local woman and then attempting to force her to have sex with him.

Ronald Warren, 47, has been charged for assault, criminal trespass, burglary and criminal restraint, all in connection with the 9:45 p.m. incident on Thursday. Warren was taken to Piscataquis County Jail, where he was released Friday after posting $1,200 bail. He will make his initial court appearance on June 23, in 13th District Court.

Warren is alleged to have asked the local woman, who is in her early 60s, for some assistance at a home he sold. When they arrived at the house, which had no electricity, he allegedly led her upstairs, pushed her into a chair, dropped his pants and forced himself on her, seeking oral sex, according to Sgt. Joel Cyr of the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department. Cyr said the woman refused, tried to get away, but allegedly was held back by Warren. She finally pushed Warren away and felt her way down the stairs and outside, Cyr said.

Cyr said as the woman walked to a nearby boarding home to request help, Warren allegedly followed in his vehicle and tried to apologize. She could not run, Cyr said, because of a medical condition.

Warren was later arrested at a relative’s house on Summer Street by Officers Mike Bean and Charles Edgerly.
