Boutilier helps SAHS Warriors outlast Panthers

MARS HILL – Zach Austin walked, stole second and eventually scored on an error during a ninth-inning rundown as Southern Aroostook eked out a 9-8 high school baseball victory over Central Aroostook on Tuesday.

Evan Boutilier paced Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook with a double, two singles and two RBIs. Adam Henderson stroked a two-run single to back relief winner Corey Edkins, who struck out seven in four shutout innings.

Kyle Larrabee paced Central Aroostook with a two-run triple and a single. R.J. Richardson doubled and singled (RBI) and Eric Martinez added an RBI single.

At Van Buren, Andy Martin stroked three singles good for three RBIs as the Crusaders beat the Warriors.

Sean Violette, one of four pitchers who combined on a two-hitter, provided three singles and two RBIs. Tyler Hews singled twice with an RBI.

Jeremy Boucher rapped a two-run single for Fort Kent and Dustin Nadeau singled.

At Madawaska, Billy Roy pitched a no-hitter, striking out 10 and allowing only one run to score to lead the Owls to victory.

Roy also led the offense with a triple, two singles and four RBIs. Shawn Boucher, Paul Roy and Eric Gendreau each hit a double and a single.

Andrew Kirschner scored Limestone’s run on a passed ball after having stolen second and third.

At Bucksport, Adam Sheehan hit a single in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Jake Knight from first base and give Bucksport the win.

Knight added a single and two runs for the Golden Bucks while Marcus Boober had two singles and an RBI.

Arshewin Aegus led the Mount Desert Island effort with a double, a home run and two RBIs while Marcus Maffucci added a double and a single.

At Deer Isle, Joe Trundy hit a two-run single to help pace Deer Isle-Stonington.

Jeff Douglas had an RBI single while Josh Eaton chipped in with a double.

Micah Doughty hit an RBI double for Bangor Christian while Anthony Cole added a single and an RBI.

At Lincoln, Steven Whitney fired a one-hitter, striking out six without issuing a walk in the Lynx’s win over the Pirates.

Andrew Kites had two singles and drove in two runs while Brian Dupuis plated two runs with a single and Tony Jensen doubled for Mattanawcook Academy.

Josh Luellen had a two-out single in the first inning for Piscataquis of Guilford.

At Houlton, Christa Lizotte and Michel Bourgoin had run-scoring singles in the sixth inning and the Pioneers went on to beat the Eagles.

Lizotte finished with three singles and two RBIs. Bourgoin also had three singles for Wisdom of St. Agatha.

Sara Jago tripled, singled twice and had an RBI and Lacey Farrah singled twice for Greater Houlton Christian.

At Hodgdon, Erin Foster had a home run, a three-run triple and a single, all in the 17-run fifth inning, as the Hawks downed the Tigers.

Foster added two more singles, while Tasha Dyer had two doubles and a single, Shanelle Dwyer and Lindsay Stewart had a double and two singles each; Alisha Little and Sam Williams had three singles apiece; and Amanda Fitzpatrick homered for Hodgdon.

Dani Searles had two doubles, while Maranda Butler and Brook McCrum doubled and singled for Fort Fairfield.

Samy Brewer, Stevi Fletcher, and Brittany Lundeen singled for the Panthers.
