Kathy Roy of Fort Kent has been named to Northern Maine Medical Center’s board of trustees.

Roy is the owner and manager of Louis J. Paradis Inc. and served as director of the Fort Kent Federal Credit Union.

Paul Lynch of Presque Isle received a leadership and volunteerism award at the annual Maine Retired Teachers Convention held May 6 in Augusta.

Lynch is a former president and longtime active member of the Aroostook Retired Educators Association. He was with the association for 14 years. He also is a former president of the Maine Association of Retired Teachers.

Gov. John E. Baldacci presented the award.

Paul Bouchard of Fort Kent, current president of the Aroostook association, was installed as second vice president of the Maine Retired Teachers Association at the convention.

Lynch went to Augusta May 21 to receive an award for volunteerism from the Maine Association of Retirees. He was presented with a $200 check.
