A Brewer man was summoned for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a usable amount of marijuana Saturday after telling police he was taking a break from a drive to buy cigarettes, according to Brewer police Officer Anthony Pinette.

Jeffrey Gordon, 40, was standing next to a pickup truck at the Maine Military Plaza on Wilson Street at 9:30 p.m. when police stopped to talk to him. Pinette said he smelled freshly burnt marijuana on Gordon’s breath and also saw a brass plate in the truck. Gordon told police he had been smoking marijuana.

Gravel also was discovered in the back of the truck, Pinette said. Gordon said he had taken it from a nearby pile, apparently being used for construction, Pinette said.

At least a half-dozen burglaries from automobiles in Bangor were reported to police Monday morning. There was almost $4,000 worth of stolen items, according to police reports. All of the vehicles were unlocked and suspects have only been identified in two incidents. Otherwise, no connections have been made between the incidents.

. One juvenile has been charged in connection with burglaries to vehicles parked at the Ramada Inn on Odlin Road, according to Bangor police Officer Dan Herrick. Four CDs valued at $60 were reported missing from a vehicle at the inn on Monday at 9:30 a.m. Another man told police his car parked at the inn had been rummaged through.

Most of the property in those burglaries has been recovered in what the suspects labeled “car shopping,” Herrick said.

. A burglary on Mount Desert Drive in Bangor reported at 8:40 a.m. Monday resulted in more than $3,000 worth of items stolen. The victim told police his stereo system, 100 CDs and wallet were stolen from his vehicle some time after 8 p.m. on Sunday.

. A tool set and case valued at $500 was taken from a vehicle on Acadia Place some time before Thursday morning, according to police reports. The burglary was reported late Monday morning.

. Another burglary at Acadia Place was reported at 8 a.m. Monday. Stolen were 10 music CDs and a wallet containing checks, a credit card and an ATM card, according to police reports. The CDs were valued at $10 each and the checkbook at $20.

. A portable CD player and a backpack containing two textbooks were taken from a vehicle on Bald Mountain Drive some time over the weekend, according to police reports. The backpack was valued at $10 and a geography book and a trigonometry book were valued at $20 each. No value was listed in the report for the CD player.
