Outlook: The Black Bears hope to build off Monday’s victory over Vermont by beating the Hawks. It is the second of three America East home games this week for UMaine, which has beaten Hartford five consecutive times. The Hawks are coming off Saturday’s 61-54 win over Towson in Hartford, but are bringing up the rear in the conference standings. The balanced Bears feature the league’s most potent offense (75.0 ppg) and are No. 1 with a .467 field goal percentage. UMaine ranks second in rebounding margin at plus-4.2, paced by Ammons and Dunkley. Green sparkled in the win over Vermont, leading the way with 21 points. Ammons bounced back well against the Catamounts after injuring his thumb late last week, while Cavalieri logged 13 minutes while rebounding from a leg injury suffered last week against Northeastern.
