Biker couple who hit moose still critical

BANGOR – A Madawaska couple who struck a moose while riding a motorcycle last weekend on U.S. Route 1 at Van Buren remained in critical condition Wednesday at a Bangor hospital, according to a hospital representative.

Eugene Levesque, 45, and his wife, Patricia Levesque, 43, sustained massive head injuries when they hit a moose that came out from roadside woods.

They were taken to Cary Medical Center in Caribou on Friday night and flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor the same night.
